EPS® 2799

EPS® 2799 is a 100% acrylic film-forming polymer that offers industry-leading performance:

  • APEO-Free, 100% acrylic film-forming polymer
  • Early high temperature block resistance
  • Print resistance
  • Fast hardness development
  • Low-tack, even in near zero VOC formulations
  • Resistance to dirt pickup (DPUR)
  • Gloss retention in both accelerated
  • QUV-A (ASTM G154) and natural exposure cycles
  • Scrub resistance (ASTM D2486)
  • Near zero VOC paints can be formulated using the EPS 9147 coalescent

EPS® 2252 improves coating performance for basecoats and primers applied to roofing substrates.

EPS® 2252

is a high solids acrylic emulsion designed to adhere to low energy substrates commonly used in roofing. Basecoats and primers based on EPS® 2252 offer outstanding adhesion to new thermoplastic olefin (TPO) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber. EPS® 2252 provides the capability to formulate coatings at <50g/L VOC.

Formulating Guidelines

  • Pigments: Careful selection of pigments is critical to many end-use properties, such as adhesion and water uptake. For optimal adhesion and water uptake performance, it is recommended that small particle size extenders be used, such as calcium carbonate. The PVC has also been shown to impact the adhesion to low energy substrates; highly filled systems may negatively impact adhesion and should be evaluated.

 

  • Dispersants & Surfactants: The use of and level of dispersants, surfactants and wetting aids may impact the adhesion performance properties of the roof coating. A ladder study is recommended to determine the optimum level.
